PUBLIC HEARING FOR ROAD NAME CHANGES
The following road name changes have been submitted to the Rowan County Planning Department and are presented for approval by the Board of Commissioners. As required by NCGS 153A-239.1, this public hearing will be held on May 15, 2023, to consider and receive comment for the following road name requests:
1. Currently Known As: Dogwood Dr.
Proposed Name: Dogwood Estates Dr.
Location: road that connects to W NC 152 Hwy in the 3200 block in China Grove, NC
Property Owners: Samuel Melendez ETAL, Michael Gagnier, Courtney Alley, James Rowland, Areyanna Hamrick, Sandi Zorrilla, Shane & Julianna Bledsoe, Angelia Christy, Dwayne Crouch, Peggy Bowlin ETAL, Ronnie Beam Heirs, Jeremy & Angela Good, Holly Childers, John & Linda Carr, Jacob Kramer, and Corriher Water Service
Reason for Change: in conversion to NG911 this area was flagged on a report from NG911 as a potential safety risk due to many addressing issues, including road name duplication in other areas of the county.
2. Currently Known As: Ray Dr.
Proposed Name: Ray Estates Dr.
Location: road that connects to Dogwood Dr in the 100 block
Property Owners: Harry & Judy Ferguson, Hannah Gagnier, Michael & Kelly DeJesus, Sheena Nowlin, Zeleana Bernal, Christopher Giddings, Evon Pleasants, Richard & Joan Shuster, Timothy Ervin, Carolyn Crouch, Robert Brundage, and Erik & Anglia Culbertson
Reason for Change: in conversion to NG911 this area was flagged on a report from NG911 as a potential safety risk due to many addressing issues, including road name duplication in other areas of the county.
RECOMMENDATION
Conduct Public Hearing on road name changes to Dogwood Drive and Ray Drive proposed by the Rowan County Address Program Administration (APA)
