In accordance with G.S. 143-129(e)(3), Rowan County is exempt from bidding requirements if the County purchases equipment from a contract established through a competitive bidding group purchasing program and if the contractor is willing to extend to the County the same or more favorable prices, terms and conditions as established in that contract. Ilderton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has agreed to extend to the County the same price and terms set forth in their contract with the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association (Contract #22-08-0913) for the purchase of three (3) vehicles. Item 150, Stellantis, Ram 1500 Special Service Crew Cab 4x4 5.7L Hemi V8, DS6T98 for $31,337 each plus $200 for color upgrade. The total cost of vehicles is $94,211.
Attached is the awarded Dealers page from the NCSA Bid Award and pricing sheets for the vehicles from Ilderton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. The NCSA bid documents are on file in the Purchasing Office. The purchase of the vehicles is within the approved fiscal year 2022 budget.
The Sheriff and the Purchasing Director recommend that the contract be awarded to Ilderton Chrysler Dodge for purchase three (3) Dodge Ram 1500 trucks from the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association Contract for an amount not to exceed $94,211.
