On November 16th, the Rowan County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing and approved incentives for 'Project Hero.' The company behind 'Project Hero' is an existing employer in our community that is considering Rowan County for an expansion. The company proposes to create 30 jobs over the next four years and invest approximately $1.5 million in building improvements and equipment.
As part of a law recently enacted by the North Carolina General Assembly authorizing public bodies to conduct public hearings during remote meetings and take action based on those hearings, it is required that written comments be received for up to 24 hours after the public hearing.
No additional written comments from the public were received during the 24-hour period after the public hearing. The Rowan EDC requests that the Board of Commissioners ratify the incentive for 'Project Hero' that was approved at the November 16th meeting. The approved incentive was a ‘Level 1 Grant’ (75% over 5 years)
